Unfinished Dresser – Unfinished, uncovered, finished or unfinished wooden crates. These can be found in chests of dressers, clothing trunks, jewelry dressers, kitchens, and bathrooms. Unfinished wood absorb water and other liquid easier than finished or sealed wood. Therefore, cleaning unfinished wood should be avoided harsh chemicals and care must be taken not to saturate the wood. If water or chemicals are absorbed into the wood, it can cause discoloration or deformation of the wood. An unfinished dresser should only be cleaned as needed.

Rinse the sponge with clean, fresh water. Clean the inside of the dresser to remove any soap residue. Use a towel to dry the dresser. Sprinkle baking soda along the bottom of the unfinished dresser. Leave it on the dresser for a couple of hours. If there is a bad odor that lingers inside the dresser, allow the baking soda to sit on the dresser for several days to help absorb the odor.
